Over the last 12 months I have been honoured to be a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals Members Council. This is a role that I have found very rewarding, being one of the early members of the register it has allowed me to be part of this amazing organisation that really has revolutionised the industry. Having been involved in the industry since a young age I remember the times before REPs and how standards were at times very hit and miss. I feel the register has really transformed the industry for the better!
The purpose of the members council is to represent the interests of the membership when it comes to decisions with regard to the direction that the register should take. We discuss a wide range issues relivent to the membership, recent issues include the active passport, charges to use parks, how to improve membership benefits, and much more! I am always happy to discuss any current issues with REPs members, so do feel free to get in contact!
I see my role as being important as it allows me to help shape the industry that I love do much and that has given so much to me. I hope that the work the members council does helps to shape and mold the future of the industry for the better. Also being based in the North West allows me to represent the wider membership based outside of London, and to make sure issues effecting the North are treated as a priority, and delt with in a timely fashion.

Remember as council members we are here to represent your interests so please do let me know if there are any specific areas you would like to be discussed at the next meeting!
