Tom has been involved with the development, writing and review of courses for the fitness education sector. He has experience of planning and management of the development process, having worked with various awarding organisations to get courses accredited.
Idea Generation/Market Scanning
Tom has a keen interest in monitoring the latest developments in the fitness industry as a whole and also those in education. He has provided ideas and insight to a number of companies in the fitness industry, he regularly has come up with innovative course ideas that have been taken on by a range of training companies. In order to do this he is a regular attendee at industry events and is an avid networker.
Project planning and budgeting is key to ensure all project aims are complete and run to a set schedule. Tom has managed development projects from the ideas stage through development and into initial/ongoing delivery. This has involved him also budgeting and forecasting costs and potential profits.
Tom has managed a number of small development teams working together on development projects. Members of these teams have included technical experts, graphic designers, multimedia designers, photographers and models. He has worked with all relevant stakeholders and worked with awarding organisations to manage the process of taking a course from idea through to delivery.
Tom has managed the sourcing of staff to complete development projects and then deliver courses. This has included staff training and development to allow courses to be delivered at venues across the UK. He has a wide network of professionals he has worked with previously with a proven track record.
Tom has personally written a wide range of courses some of the courses he has written have included Level 4 Obesity and Diabetes, Exercise Referral, Fitness Instructor, Fitness Management, Assessor, Tutor and much more.
He has also written a number of internal training programmes for new staff that have helped some of the companies he has worked with manage growth effectively.
Tom has reviewed course offerings and generated reports detailing possible areas of improvement or new markets to target. This has involved gathering data from learners, staff and EQA, to try and improve the quality and delivery of a product.
