Teaching, education and L+D conferences and events in 2023

Hi All,

Conferences, expos, and events are a key way of maintaining your currency in the world of education and as a teacher.  I have found attending events to be a great way to develop myself, my teaching and also my teams. I decided to develop a list of some of the key conferences in the education calendar each year. I have a list of events and conferences in the fitness world for any of you that work in that sector.

17th – 18th April 2024 – Learning Technologies

This conference is focused in on how we can implement and use technology in the delivery of digital education.  The event plays host to some of the industry innovators and biggest names in technology.  If you are looking to make improvements in your digital or blended offering this is definitely a must attend event!

26th – 27th June 2023 – AELP

The AELP conference is a must attend for those mainly in the world of work based learning and ITPs, the events have a wide variety of experts from across the world of education, funding and Ofsted.  It is an event that offers some great learning and networking opportunities. 

13th – 14th September 2023 – Learning Live

This event held in London involves a crowdsourced agenda, and networking. It is seen as giving attendees practical and fun takeaways that they can use to improve L+D in their organisations.  As a free to attend event it is also cost effective. 

10th – 11th October 2023 – World of Learning

This amazing event held at the NEC in Birmingham focuses in on some of the leading challenges and issues facing the world of learning right now.  The event has a broad range of speakers and displays covering areas such as technology and communication and attracts some of the biggest innovators in this area. 

8th – 9th November 2023 – CIPD

One that is more in the L+D world and most likely the most well heard of, this amazing two day event offers some great seminars led by some of the thought leaders in the world of learning and development.

14th – 15th November 2023 – AOC Annual Conference

This is a must attend event for those working in FE and skills, particularly in a collage stetting. The event allows you to hear from policy makers, and the biggest names in further education.  The event is always very well attended and has a very varied programme to allow for a variety of attendees.

24th – 26th January 2024 – BETT

A big show that covers a wide range of areas in the world of education, including leadership, digital inclusion and much more.  The event includes some of the top names in education and L+D, there are a wide range of suppliers who demonstrate some of the latest innovation in education.

24th – 26th January 2024 – The Education Show @ BETT

This conference sits inside of BETT and aims to bring together suppliers, CPOD offerings, and aims to be the largest gathering of educators.  It aims to support school leaders, teachers, FE and a wide variety of educational settings. 

TBC 2024 – AELP Spring Conference

A great smaller event run by ALEP, always focuses in on some of the key issues and challenges affecting the world of vocational skills and education. Held in Birmingham aims to discuss the pressing issues affecting training providers.

TBC 2024 – AELP Apprenticeship Conference

This event focused in on all things apprenticeships is held at the ICC Birmingham, and is a focal point in the calendar for all those involved with apprenticeship provision. Held over a busy two days it focuses in on areas including policy, funding and operations.

Ongoing 2022 – ResearchED

ReasearchEd have a number of events going on across the country through the year, these events tend to focus more on teaching and delivery.  They are more focused on school and FE delivery, these events are very good and as the name suggests focused on the evidence based teaching.
