UK Fitness Conventions not to be missed!

Hi All,

I often get asked which conventions, trade shows and expos I recommend for those in the fitness industry, so here it is my list of the best for 2013.

22nd – 24th March – International Fitness Showcase

This growing annual convention and trade show held in Blackpool is a great one to attend for all those in the North!  It has a good balance of both theory lead and practical lead sessions that covers all areas of the fitness industry.  The convention is aimed at those within the industry such as Personal Trainers, Fitness Instructors, etc…

12th – 13th April – Fit Pro

This is the oldest and most establish convention, it is aimed at Fitpros, it is held annually at Loughborough University and is made up of a number of a wide range of both practical and theory sessions form some of the leaders in our industry.  Well worth attending!

17th – 19th May – Body Power

This is a relatively new expo is held at the NEC in Birmingham, it is mainly focused in on the worlds of strength, power and mass, and is open to both industry professionals and the public.

3rd – 5th September – BASES

One for all the exercise scientists out there, the venue changes annually, and as to does the focus.  This is a more theoretical convention aimed at the academic levels of study.

24th – 26th September – Leisure Industry Week

LIW is a well established convention held at the NEC in Birmingham, its focus is on facilities and equipment, so it is a great one to attend in 2013.  This will give all you fitness professionals the chance to have a look at and even a play with the latest gadgets in the fitness industry.

Also worth checking in on are the REPs conventions, these are held in England, Scotland and Wales throughout the year.  To find out more about these events have a look at the REPs website!
